Saturday night at Chico's

Racing at Chico's tonight the track is smooth and fast. Chico and Tom have done a great job on the track. Mike and I ran in the 13.5 Sprint and the 17.5 EDM classes tonight. Bob Mott was the king of the Sprints as he got TQ and won the A main, I was 2nd, Mike 3rd. In 17.5 EDM Mike just edged me out again for TQ but, I am getting closer. In the Main I was able to get into the lead when Mike got caught in the infield and held it until I was spun into the outside wall. I was able to recover but, could not run down the leader who was insanely fast. In the end I finished 2nd and Mike was 3rd. We had a great time at Chico's, one of the nicest tracks in NY.

Friday night at Wizard's

Racing at wizards tonight. Weather held off and we got the show in. some technicals issues with the lap counting equipment prevented electronic scoring but, everyone pitched in and we ran anyway. I was able to TQ in the 17.5 EDM class and went on to win the A main with 44 laps. Track had lots of bite but, is still rough in spots.

Final notes from the DODC race at staubs

Had a good day today with a 5th place finish in the A main with my Late Model. I had worked my way up to 4th from my 6th place starting position but, got my car side ways while trying to let the leader pass late in the race and dropped to 5th. Dropping to 5th was not all bad as I won a $10 "lucky dog" payout for that finishing position, adding that to the 5th place payout, they paid me a $1.00 to race for the day as the entry fee was $15!

Limited Mod Sprint was scratched from the line up because there were not enough entries. I did however find the problem with my Sprint which turned out to be a binding steering rack.

I had a great time at Staub Brothers Raceway and definitely will go back.

DODC NATIONAL POINTS RACE

Well, back at it only 5 hours after finishing up the Nitro Tour race! The track has been prepped and I have been able to get some laps in. My Late Model is running good today, if I can keep up with the track, I should be alright. My Sprint on the other hand, still has the same problem I had in last nights A main. Hmmm, got to get to work to see if I can figure it out.

Finally

I am finally done for tonight, back at it for the DODC points race in the morning. I was able to bump from the B to the A with my Sprint were I ended up 7th with handling issues. My Late Model was not good enough in the B and I had to settle for a 5th place finish. I am happy overall with my results this being the first time at Staub's, the first time running Mod Sprint and 13.5 Late Model.

Finished at the Bakery

Another great day of racing is over and Mike and I had a good day. Mike edged me out for 17.5 EDM TQ and we went on to finish 1-2 in the A main. I had a good run going until about 15 laps to go when my right front tire wore out and I developed a huge push after leading for over 60 laps. Mike was able to run me down and pass me with about 10 to go and go on to the win.

In Sprints Mike qualified 2nd and I got 4th as the sprints were lacking good traction all day. For the A main I made wholesale changes to my car and got lucky that they helped my car a lot. I was able to work my way up from 4th to a 2nd place finish and Mike finished 4th.

Mr. Mott's pit at Wizards

Had a good time tonight racing at Wizard's. In Sprints I was able to grab 2nd behind Mr. Mott who was "hooked up" tonight. In 17.5 EDM I was able to TQ and hold on for the win in the A as my SE was very good through the turns.

The Bakery 6/9

Second trip to The Bakery and what a difference, the track was awesome. Mike and Aaron also made the trip and we had a good night. Mike was able to edge me out for TQ in 17.5 EDM and then we finished the A 1-2. Aaron also made the A but, had an electrical melt down and could not start the race. In sprint, I was able to TQ and in the A main I finished 2nd and Mike was 3rd.

Chico's

Wow that is one large RC car! To bad only 1 showed up, it would have been a neat class to watch..lol
The track was great and I had a real good time. Qualified 3rd in 17.5 and finished 3rd in the A. Many thanks go out to the guys in the main for waiting while I changed a sensor board in my motor. Definitely a track I will go back to.

The Bakery

Running at The Bakery tonight in 17.5 EDM...qualified 3rd and finished 3rd on a slick track. i was told the track was much slicker than normal which was apparent in the laps turned tonight, tq 17.5 37 laps on a 45 lap track record. got a good baseline for the CW SE on the slick track so should be in good shape next week with a couple more adjustments.
